My new telephoto lens lets me fulfill my dream of walking around inside the clouds on a foggy morning.
I bought the lens converter a few months ago, supposedly so that I could take detailed photos of the landscape around here. And I've done that. Really. But I've also turned into something of a spy, searching for signs of life in the settlements around us. An intense curiosity combined with a profound shyness makes an excellent private investigator. Or maybe just a garden-variety snoop. When I was a little girl, I read the novel Harriet the Spy over and over again, until the covers fell off my paperback copy.

This photo was taken with the lens in place, without the distance adjusted. I like the way the black circle frames the clouds and shadows.
